Lina Husseini
Lina Maalouf Husseini (b.1965) is a self-taught, Lebanese-French artist who holds a public administration degree from the American University of Beirut.
Passionate about art, Husseini embraces an intuitive process, free from academic tenets, that highlights the beauty of spontaneity by forgoing the use of molds. Seamlessly harmonizing Eastern and Western influences, her work serves as a testament to this cultural duality. Notably pioneering the use of everyday materials like PVC in art, she skillfully manipulates these elements to challenge their mundane associations. This approach invites viewers to a fresh, optimistic perspective on societal norms and politics.
Husseini's unique sculptures have been exhibited worldwide, with significant showcases in Beirut, France, and the United States. Her sculpture “Together” is part of the permanent collection of the Peoria Riverfront Museum, in Peoria, Illinois. Beyond her exhibitions, Husseini actively contributes to fundraising efforts for student scholarships in Lebanon and cancer treatments through US-based art auctions.
