Darwiche Chamaa

Darwiche Chamaa, a Lebanese artist born in Gabon, is known for his abstract interpretations of Lebanese landscapes, influenced by Modernism, Impressionism, and Cubism. He favors abstraction over realism, using color and form to capture the essence of nature.

Working mainly with oil paints, he builds layered compositions starting with watercolor washes, creating textured surfaces and structured color fields connected by linear elements. His technique simplifies landscapes into expressive, vibrant forms.

Chamaa has exhibited widely in Lebanon and internationally, with shows in Beirut and Cairo, and his works are held in notable collections including the French Embassy in Beirut and the Farhat Art Museum.
