Nabil Nahas

Nabil Nahas (b. 1949, Beirut) is a Lebanese-American artist known for his vibrant, textured paintings blending geometry and nature. He moved to the U.S. in 1969, earning his BFA at LSU and MFA at Yale. Based between New York and Lebanon, his recent works reflect on his homeland, especially through haunting portraits of trees like cedars and olives.

Nahas has exhibited internationally, including a 2010 retrospective in Beirut and representing Lebanon at the 2002 São Paulo Biennial. His work has been shown at the Venice Biennale and is held in major collections, including the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, Tate Modern, and The Met. He has exhibited with Sperone Westwater Gallery since 1997.
