Mucteba Seyit

Mucteba Seyit (Mujo, b. 1999, Beirut) is a visual artist with a Master’s in Fine Arts from the Lebanese University. Despite being raised and culturally rooted in Lebanon, his lack of Lebanese citizenship has shaped a persistent sense of displacement, which deeply informs his work.

His practice combines physical and digital media, exploring themes of identity, belonging, and recognition. Recently active in the NFT space, he has exhibited internationally, including at NFT.NYC (2023 and 2024), with a growing global presence.

A key development in his work is the use of geometric shapes, which evolved from secondary elements into central forms that generate movement and structure. His compositions explore dualities—life and death, light and darkness, stillness and motion—through harmonious yet tense arrangements. The recurring masked figure acts as a neutral observer within these contrasts, while cool color palettes reinforce a sense of isolation and contemplation.
