Aram Jughian
(b. 1959) is a self-taught Lebanese-Armenian artist and poet. Jughian's achievements include a significant commission from the Ministry of Public Works in Lebanon and winning the esteemed Sursock Prize in 1993.
Jughian’s vibrant mixed-media pieces, rich in color and form, convey a dynamic interplay of form, movement, and emotion. With an instinctive grasp of composition and unique use of light and gestural vivacity immerse viewers in a captivating, emotional landscape. These attributes reflect the depth of his artistic intuition and emotional expression.
Jughian began showcasing his work in both solo and group exhibitions in Russia and Lebanon from 1975. Notable venues include the Kulturzentrum, Russian Cultural Center, Sursock Museum, M'ars Center for Contemporary Art in Moscow, and Galerie Janine Rubeiz, where he had exhibits in 1996, 1997, 2002, and 2005.
